PET Bottle Pavillion
The right to fail
A project we did with and for Les Ateliers Claus. Was an amazing experiment. Quite an amazing disaster also. With the years, you can start looking back to the project with more tenderness. But it’s also the story of a failure. Of a project which did not work (yet ?). Still, we think it’s good to share failures also…
PET Bottle Pavillion
The right to fail
Year: 2018
Status: Archive
Program: Whatever
Location: Brussels, Belgium
What Les Ateliers Claus said about it : we’re presenting our new project called ‘claustrum’: it’s a new enclosed sound- en concertspace in the shape of a temple dome and build up in recycled/used materials. The inner shape has a geodetical shape and will function as a ambisonic en spatial sound system. The aim is to create a musical entity constructed out of materials of the past to construct a musical experience of the future, wherein an artist and audience can present and experience different forms of ambisonic compositions.
The ‘claustrum’: is a enclosed soundspace build up in recycled/used materials and will function as a ambisonic and spatial sound system. People can experience an ongoing musical and physical experience in the claustrum. The aim is to create a musical entity constructed out of materials of the past to construct a musical experience of the future, wherein an artist and audience can present and experience different forms of ambisonic compositions.
Ambisonic compositions are made especially for the Claustrum by James Tamberollo (Dntel) , Lieven Moana Martens (Dolphins into the future) and Caroline Profanter.
This project has (never) been created in the context of het Parcours d’artistes Forst and Sint-Gillis, Supervlieg and Meakusma Festival .
