The stakes, scale and scope of this project, located near the town hall and the church of Sainte-Anne, in the historic heart of Koekelberg (Brussels), are fascinating because they are multiple, or rather intertwined, and straddle several sites, issues, audiences, disciplines and levels of intervention. Yet it is eminently fascinating and relevant: it deals with the city, living together and seeing how, with precise touches and without tabula rasa, we can help to improve existing places, making them more porous, mixed, plural and sharable, accessible, inclusive and landscaped. This mix of scales, techniques, disciplines, issues, budgets and even timeframes is what drives us towards a strong and coherent goal: to make the Espace Cadol and the playground places that are part of the history of Koekelberg, with the ecological, social and cultural ambitions of this century and the challenges that lie ahead.
